CFB 27 First impressions
Im going to go over a few things that I noticed after playing the beta.
Speed Boost is corrected. Speed boost is still in the game, but it got nerfed big time. You get rewarded for hitting the holes with correct timing, but it is unlikely that you will have to deal with players cheesing this every drive for crazy runs.
The in game talent gap feels wider than ever. Bad teams feel REALLY bad. I'm not just referring to gameplay, in dynasty mode the bad teams barely have any NIL or recruiting hours, and this will make rebuilds a lot more challenging and require strategy that spans more than 2-3 seasons.... LOVE THAT. In game, the bad teams are noticeably slower, the trenches are heavily skewed and QB play is lackluster. I think you can still out scheme better teams and win, but it will take a lot of concentration and minimal (if any) mistakes.
The introduction of Macros. I think this will be a big one for online dynasties and competitive play. You are able to modify coaching adjustments to different scenarios and instead of having to click 5 different things to get your defense aligned, you can select your saved macro and your defense will align how you want them to. This helps players avoid getting quick snapped. EA focused HEAVILY on defense this year and CFB 27 feels like a completely different game on defense.
Improper alignment when you "show blitz" with your LBs.
How long it takes your QBs to get settled in, I like the realism of the QB walking to the line of scrimmage but sometimes it takes too long and when paired with the animations that the QB does when hot routing and the brand new "formation shifts" it can slow the game down.
Chip and release being inconsistent. This is an awesome new addition to the hot route tree, but it is inconsistent at times, this function was made for TEs and RBs to check for work and "chip" before running their intended route, which is nice in theory but doesn't always work. Maybe this has to do with the players awareness rating but it just didn't work as advertised.
in conclusion, CFB 27 looks very promising and I look forward to playing the full release of the game and creating a lockdown defense with all of these new features.
